Check out these ready-to-go activity kits, free to take home!** 

Some kits correspond to our virtual programs, as indicated. 

**Pick up kits at any branch while supplies last. First come, first served (no holds!). Call 403-346-4576 to ensure that the kit you are hoping to pick up is still available at your branch of choice.**

A bundle of worksheets to help you work on your family tree with, which you can access for free with your library card!

Craft Take Out Boxes

Looking for a ready made art activity? Each activity box will include supplies and any necessary instructions to create your amazing art project! Suitable for all ages.

May's theme is Mothers (in celebration of Mother's Day!)..

Spice It Up Grab and Go Kits

Available May 3

If you can’t travel in person, travel the world and try exotic cuisine in the comfort of your own kitchen! Each month we will have a box with a spice and a recipe that you may not have tried before. Whether you nailed it or failed it, post a picture for all to see with a #spiceitup (and tag us!) to win a fabulous prize!

May's spices are Paprika and Garam Masala.

The program is co-sponsored by Alberta Health Services and Red Deer Public Library.

Origami Kits

Basic instructions, origami paper, and a fun facts sheet! Suitable for ages 7 and up. 

Bee-Friendly Flower Seed Kits

Available May 10

Kit containing mixed flower seeds to attract bees and a bookmark with information and book recommendations.

Sewing 101 Kits

Available May 11

Sew your library bag! The kit will have a library bag and items to personalize it with, thread and a needle.

Knitting 101 Kits

Available May 12

Knit a library bag for the summer! The kit will have novelty yarn, a pattern, knitting needles and decoration ribbon and buttons.

Playdough Kits

Available May 13

Contains playdough and accessories. For ages 2-4.

School Age Craft Kits

Available May 17

Supplies and instructions for a fun craft to make at home. A new kit will be available in the middle of each month, while supplies last

May's activity is Paint a Pot (ages 10+) and includes a terra cotta pot and paint. 

Companion Vegetable Seed Kits

Available May 19

Kit containing carrot and bean seeds, bookmark with information and book recommendations.

Family Science Kits

Available May 24

Contains directions for a science experiment you and your family can try with some of the supplies! A new kit will be available at the start of each month, while supplies last.

Musical Instrument Kits

Available May 27

Contains supplies to make/play homemade instruments! Can't make it in to pick up a kit? Check out these instructions and activities to make your own from home!
