RDPL Reopening June 14!

Reopening Plan Update: We will be open for express service beginning June 14!

Start the car! We are so excited to announce that we will be reopening once again for Express Service on Monday, June 14, pending the move to Stage 2 of the Government of Alberta's Open for Summer plan.

Express Service will allow library customers to browse the library collection in person, access library computers (including paid printing services), pick up and check out holds using our self-checkout machines, access in-person services like library card registration and reader’s advisory assistance from our staff, and more. Since we are operating under reduced capacities (1/3 fire capacity), we do encourage you to keep your visits short to ensure that everyone has a chance to use the library.

Face masks are required for all library visitors. If you don't have your own, we will provide one for you.

Contactless holds pickup will remain available at all locations for those who do not wish to come inside or for those who are unable to wear a mask. Click here for details on how contactless holds pickup works.

We are so grateful for funding provided by the Government of Alberta’s Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP) and the City of Red Deer, which allowed us to complete our HVAC replacement project, providing us with a safe, reliable HVAC system for our Downtown Branch so that we can reopen safely.
