All Indoor In-Person Programs On Hold Until Further Notice

All Indoor In-Person Programs On Hold Until Further NoticeIn response to the Government of Alberta’s latest public health measures and the declaration of a State of Public Health Emergency, RDPL has made the decision to temporarily pause all indoor in-person programs and events until further notice.

We were so excited to begin welcoming you all back to our in-branch programs, but the health and safety of our community is our number one priority.

Please stay tuned for updates on specific programs or events that you have registered for or were planning to attend. Some of these programs may be moved to an online format or moved outdoors, where possible, while others may be cancelled or postponed. We thank you for your patience as we sort out the details.

Our virtual program offerings can be found on the events tab on our website. We have plenty of awesome online programs coming up, including a variety of Health & Wellness programs, Book Club meetings, Financial Literacy learning opportunities, Storytimes, our annual Book Club Jamboree, and much more.

We would also like to remind you of our Kits to Go -- we have a great variety of take-home programs for all ages to keep you and your loved ones busy! These are available on a first-come, first-served basis (no holds, sorry!). Take a look at our upcoming Kits to Go release dates, and we would encourage you to call ahead to ensure that kits are still available at your preferred branch.

Lastly, remember that we have thousands of items for you to borrow for free with your library card! And while books will always be the heart and soul of our library collection, we also have movies (yes, even new releases!), magazines, board games, puzzles, activity kits, video games, and so much more. Beyond that, your library card gives you access to a whole suite of online resources that you can use 24/7, including eBooks and eAudiobooks, online magazines and newspapers, and learning & research tools.

All of our library locations remain open for in-person visits at this time, so you are welcome to stop by to browse the shelves or use the computers, while maintaining 2 meters distance from those outside your household. Current hours can be found here. Masks are mandatory for all customers ages two and over, and must be completely covering your mouth and nose at all times when inside the library. For those who are unable to wear a mask, you can place holds online or by phone (403-346-4576) and use our curbside pickup option, which is available at all branches.
