Young Reader’s Choice Awards 2022

The Young Reader's Choice Award (YRCA) is the longest-running book award where kids get to vote for the winners! It is also the only children's book award that is voted on by children in the US and Canada. Participation is open to students in Grades 4 to 12 living in Alaska, Alberta, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana and Washington who have read (or listened to) a title from the list. Sponsored by the Pacific Northwest Library Association and established in 1940, past and current YRCA nominees and winners are also great choices for kids and families who are looking for book recommendations! For more information about the award (including a list of past winners and nominees), visit the YRCA page on the Pacific Northwest Library Association website.

To find a list of the 2022 nominees in the junior and intermediate categories, see this booklist.

Voting for this year's award opened on March 15 and runs until April 15, 2022. You can vote for more than one title and in more than one category, as long as you've read at least one title from those categories. Library cards aren’t required to vote, however we encourage all children to have one, and library cards for kids are FREE!
