26 in ’26: Books that were even BETTER than expected!

On the latest episode of Part of the Story, I was joined by my co-worker Summer Langstraat to chat about books that we thought we'd like but didn't know we'd LOVE.

Starter Villain

Summer started us off with this humourous pick!

The Naturals

The first in a Criminal Minds-esque YA series, I flew through each installment.

The Tainted Cup

Summer chose this fantastical, whodunnit for its intriguing nature.

Wishtree

I chose this cozy story told by a tree who has seen so many changes in its community for the unexpected warmth of the narrative.

Moon Called

Summer brought up Patricia Brigg's long running series (much to my delight). We both found the series later in its life and continue to sing its praises.

Heart the Lover

Ugh. My pick. Full crying by the end. The writing made me wish I myself had a way with the written word. Alas, we cannot all be Lily King.

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches

Summer chose this cozy one on a whim and was pleasantly surprised.

The Song of Achilles

This was yet another excellent rec by Summer that I forgot I loved way more than expected too. If TWO of us are saying it lives up to the hype, how can we both be wrong?!

Chatted about but not in catalogue:

The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery

The Lotus Palace by Jeannie Lin
