We are celebrating Jane Austen all of 2025 leading up to the 250th anniversary of her birth on December 16th, 2025! How better to celebrate than by reading (or re-reading) all her finished novels! The novel we are reading (or rereading) this month is Emma. Emma was Austen's fourth published title, and continues to be one her more well known. Many of us of a certain age will recall the iconic film Clueless being based off this seminal work.
Emma is at once spoiled and thoughtful, charming and condescending. She is a woman from circumstances that have never accounted for struggle. The only heroine that has her name as the title, this truly is Emma's story. Her journey of better understanding the world and people around her.
