World Bookmark Day Contest

Your artwork could be turned into a bookmark and given out at Red Deer Public Library!

Pick up a bookmark design sheet at any branch of RDPL, or download and print the sheet from home. Contest is open to artists of all ages! Contest deadline: January 31, 2026.

Winners will be announced on World Bookmark Day on February 25!

Contest Rules & Conditions

To Enter:

  • Download the bookmark design sheet or pick one up at any branch of RDPL.
  • Use the space provided on the sheet to design your bookmark. 
  • Feel free to use whatever art form you like – pencils, crayons, markers, paint, collage... whatever you need to get your creativity on paper!
  • Fill out the information on the sheet to complete your submission, and drop it off at the Downtown, Dawe, or Timberlands Branch. Please print carefully.
  • The contest is open to artists of all ages!

Deadline: January 31, 2026

The Fine Print:

  • You must be a City of Red Deer resident to qualify.
  • We can only accept one entry per person, so be sure to submit your top design!
  • Digitally created original designs are acceptable. We cannot accept tracings, copied designs, AI-generated images, or reproductions of licensed characters.
  • All entries become the property of Red Deer Public Library and may be displayed or distributed at our library branches and out in the community, on our website, and on our social media channels.
  • Winners of the contest will be notified, but RDPL is under no obligation to communicate with entrants who are not selected as contest winners.
  • Entering the contest signifies your acceptance of the Contest Rules.

Winners and Prizes:

  • There will be multiple winners (but we aren't sure yet how many, so stay tuned!).
  • Winners will be notified on or before World Bookmark Day on February 25, 2026.
  • Contest winners will have their design and name printed on bookmarks that will be distributed via RDPL's branches.
  • Winners will receive an RDPL swag bag and 25 copies of their bookmark to share with family and friends!

Winners will be announced on February 25 – World Bookmark Day – and the winning designs will be free for readers to pick up at any library branch.
