Adult Literacy Program

About the Program

The Red Deer Public Library Adult Literacy Program matches adult learners with volunteer tutors to work together for up to 2 hours per week. Learners meet with their tutors one-on-one. They meet once a week at the library or online.

The Adult Literacy Program provides support to Literacy and Foundational Learners. Basic skills may include literacy, numeracy, basic digital skills, English Language Learning, and skills for learning.

The services of the RDPL Adult Literacy Program are available to persons in the city of Red Deer over 18 years of age. Volunteer tutors must also be 18 or over and preferably reside in Red Deer.

Tutors and learners receive a free library card, and the only cost to the learner is an annual registration fee of $25.00.
