We are also planning to update the library with new toys thanks to our customers and Library Giving Day! We hope you will consider donating to refresh the collection with new items sure to make our little customers smile with delight.
About Library Giving Day
Library Giving Day is a one-day fundraising event with the goal of encouraging people who depend on and enjoy public libraries to donate to their home library. This support goes towards the incredible programs, services, and materials provided by libraries everywhere! Library Giving Day was originally started by the Seattle Public Library Foundation, but has since become popular across North America – including in Red Deer!
Our Library Giving Day Goal: In Support of the Toy Lending Library
This year, Library Giving Day is on April 6 and RDPL has a goal to raise $5,000 towards the grand reopening of the Toy Lending Library at the Downtown Branch. These toys support families in our community by providing a way for children to learn and thrive, but the cost of new toys is often prohibitive for many families. With a free Red Deer Public Library card, families can have access to the entire Toy Lending Library, and thousands of books and other items available to loan at RDPL.
Supporting the library is a gift that keeps on giving, so please consider donating to this important community resource!
How to Donate
You can donate online through our Canada Helps donations page, opens a new window or in person at any branch! Thank you so much for your support!
